Our Story The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that acts as the voice for coaching in Saskatchewan. Founded on the principle that everyone deserves a qualified coach, CAS partners with the Coaching Association of Canada to deliver the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and related professional development across the province. Its mission is to provide Saskatchewan coaches of all levels with positive, innovative, and collaborative education experiences. The organization is committed to creating a safe sport environment and has taken the Responsible Coaching Movement pledge. Through its board and staff, CAS also maintains dedicated representation for Indigenous coaching and women in coaching, ensuring inclusive pathways for underrepresented groups. Programs & Trainings NCCP Core Training & Certification, Multi-sport and sport-specific workshops that provide the training and tools needed to succeed in coaching and in life, delivered across Saskatchewan. Community Sport, Initiation, Workshops for coaches introducing participants to a sport for the first time, emphasizing a fun, safe environment and the development of FUNdamentals stage skills. Community Sport, Ongoing Participation, Training for coaches of youth in recreational settings or masters athletes in the Active for Life stage, focused on encouragement, fitness, and socialization. Competition, Introduction, Designed for coaches of athletes transitioning from FUNdamentals to Learn to Train and Train to Train stages of long-term athlete development. Competition, Development, For coaches working with athletes ranging from Train to Train to Train to Compete stages, building performance over the long term. Competition, High Performance, Specialized training for coaches of athletes in the Train to Win stage, requiring advanced, sport-specific skills and abilities. Instruction, Beginners, For instructors teaching first-time participants through short-term lesson series with no formalized competition, focused strictly on skill development. Instruction, Intermediate Performers, Specialized support to help competitive athletes cross over and gain enhanced sport-specific skills and tactical development. Instruction, Advanced Performers, High-level instruction for experienced performers seeking advanced tactical and technical development in their sport. Advanced Coaching Diploma, The most extensive multi-sport training program offered by the NCCP in Canada, providing comprehensive high-performance coach education. Saskatchewan Coaching Academy Online, Flexible online delivery of NCCP training and professional development courses accessible remotely. Home Study Delivery, Self-paced study options for coaches unable to attend in-person workshops. Indigenous Coaches and Officials Program, Dedicated initiative supporting the recruitment, training, and development of Indigenous coaches and officials. Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program, Opportunity for each province and territory to send two female coaches to the Canada Games in apprenticeship roles to advance their careers. Women in Coaching: Mentor Coach Expression of Interest, Mentorship pathway connecting emerging female coaches with experienced leaders. PD & Certification Maintenance, Ongoing professional development and certification upkeep for all NCCP levels. Delivery is multimodal, blending in-person workshops, online modules via the Saskatchewan Coaching Academy, and home-study options. Programs emphasize positive, innovative, and collaborative education, integrating safe-sport protocols and the Responsible Coaching Movement to ensure ethical, athlete-centered development.
