About
Our Story
Founded in 1996, the Academie voor Coaching en Counselling (ACC) is a Netherlands-based training institute dedicated to "creating awareness" and helping individuals discover and develop their talents to guide others. With over 30 years of experience, ACC operates under the NRTO quality mark and is CRKBO-registered, offering VAT-exempt programmes. The academy fosters a holistic philosophy that integrates body, mind, and spirit, believing that balancing these three aspects is essential for a fulfilling life and effective coaching practice. ACC maintains a personal approach with small groups, interactive education, and expert teachers drawn directly from the coaching and counselling field. Its programmes are nationally and internationally recognized by bodies including the LVSC, IAC, SKB, NFG, KABIZ, and BLCN, reflecting a commitment to high-quality, accredited coach education.

Methods & Approach
ACC employs a three-pillar pedagogical structure combining theory, practice, and personal development. The curriculum integrates established methodologies such as Transactional Analysis, family constellations, attachment and coping style theory, Non-Violent Communication, Bateson and Dilts logical levels, and body-oriented exercises including breathing techniques and body scans. Students engage in interactive classroom learning, peer coaching, intervision groups, and supervised practice with real test clients, while maintaining a reflective portfolio throughout their journey. The academy deliberately fuses coaching with counselling to ensure practitioners can address past-rooted patterns while maintaining a future-oriented action focus.
Who It's For
The programmes welcome career switchers seeking to establish an independent practice, as well as existing professionals such as caregivers, psychologists, managers, HR professionals, consultants, and healthcare workers who wish to strengthen their guiding and coaching competencies. The Year 1 English programme is suitable for beginners in the field and requires a minimum of secondary vocational education (MBO-4) or sufficient life experience and motivation. Advanced tracks are designed for graduates of the foundational year or experienced coaches seeking specialisation in mental health, relationships, grief, addiction, or organisational re-integration.

Classes are held at physical locations in Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Hilversum, with comprehensive live online alternatives available for most programmes.
