Baghdad Business School
The International Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), based in Iraq, is addressing a crucial need in the country. With 60% of the population under the age of 24 and unemployment rates reaching 18%, there is a pressing demand to equip young Iraqis with the skills necessary to thrive in the private sector. Recognizing this gap, IFHE established Baghdad Business School (BBS) in 2020. BBS offers a unique one-year intensive program, combining English, Business, and Professional Skills. This comprehensive curriculum is designed to prepare university graduates for roles in sectors like marketing, finance, banking, and accounting, or to launch their own businesses. The school's hybrid, blended ESL program includes six months of English: three months of General English and three months of Business English. BBS's strength lies in its approach. It combines traditional teaching methods with innovative approaches like problem-based learning and real-world case studies, ensuring students not only learn theory but also gain practical experience. The school's target audience is Iraqi university graduates seeking to enhance their skills or pivot into new career paths. In conclusion, Baghdad Business School offers a unique opportunity for young Iraqis to acquire the skills they need to succeed in the private sector. With a comprehensive curriculum and innovative teaching methods, BBS is well-positioned to meet the needs of its students and contribute to Iraq's economic development.
