Our Story Robert Louis Stevenson School (RLSS) was established under the Charitable Trusts Act (1965) to operate as a charitable organization and to engage in educational activities. It is an independent community school founded to provide an alternative educational facility in Samoa. The school began in 1987 at Siusega in the Faleata district on Upolu with 64 students, relocated to Lotopa in 1992 with a roll of 235 students, and expanded over three decades into a 715-student institution spanning primary and college levels. Governance is exercised by a Trust Management Board elected by the parents of RLSS students, while daily management is the responsibility of the Principal and Vice Principals. RLSS is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MESC) in Samoa and continues to strive for excellence under the leadership of Principal Ms. Fiaapia Devoe.
