Our Story
Pacific Horizons School (PHS) is a private K-12 institution in American Samoa proudly known as the "Home of the Navigators since 1994." Its mission is to help young people chart their direction and build the skills necessary for a successful journey through life. PHS is committed to developing self-esteem, respect for others, and a lifelong love of learning in every student. The school sustains a proven record of academic excellence in the territory by maintaining small class sizes and recruiting highly qualified staff. It operates under a strict non-discrimination policy and fosters an inclusive, welcoming environment for all students, staff, and families. Governance includes a Board of Directors composed of local professionals and an active Parent Teacher Organization that supports innovative school initiatives.
Programs & Trainings
Lower Elementary (K3/K4 through Grade 2), Foundational early childhood and primary education focusing on core literacy, numeracy, social development, and early science exploration in small-group settings.
Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5), Intermediate programming including core academics and introductory science fair participation, as demonstrated by Grade 3-5 Science Fair competitors in Chemistry and Environmental Science.

National STEM Challenge, Competitive program sending STEM Champions to showcase projects at the National STEM Festival.
International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), Advanced research competition for high school students, with participants earning Grand Awards in Environmental Engineering and special awards from INCOSE.
American Samoa Annual HOSA Leadership Conference, Health science and career competition programming, including Health Career Photography and team overall placements.
MATE ROV World Championship, Underwater robotics engineering program (High School ROV Ranger Entry) emphasizing team collaboration, engineering design, and international competition, recognized with Team Spirit and MVP Engineering Awards.

A formal Distance Learning Plan is maintained. New student registration opens annually on April 1st, while returning student registration is handled through the existing portal. The institution accepts charitable donations via PayPal to help keep tuition accessible and sustain quality education for the island community. Instruction is delivered in English, with Spanish offered as a high school language course.
