Our Story The Institut Français d'Irak — Baghdad is the official French cultural and educational center in Iraq, operating under the Institut français de Paris and the French Embassy in Iraq. Its mission is to promote French language and culture while fostering academic, artistic, and intellectual exchanges between France and Iraq. Facilities & Practical Info The Institute operates from its Baghdad premises on Abou Nawas Street. It is open Saturday through Thursday, closed on Tuesdays, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Courses are delivered in-person and online. The site includes a media library (Médiathèque) and digital cultural platform (Culturethèque). The Institute communicates in French and Arabic, with English also present, and maintains an active calendar of examinations and cultural events.
