Leading from Strengths: How I Coach Executives and Teams on the Green Path

I love to guide and develop people towards their dreams and their full potential. This is not a slogan for me, it is the way I was raised and the way I have built my entire career as a Gallup Certified Strengths Based Coach and an ICF Associate Certified Coach. When I work with leaders, teams and professionals going through a career transition, I always start from the same question: what are you already good at, and how can you build on that instead of fixing what is weak.

Why I Build Leadership on Strengths

My approach is rooted in the Gallup strengths methodology, which I have used since becoming certified in 2018. In my own profile, strengths such as Achiever, Learner, Developer, Strategic and Maximiser shape how I work and how I understand the people I coach. I have seen, again and again, that executives and teams move faster and with more energy when they focus on what comes naturally to them rather than spending most of their effort trying to correct every weakness.

This is why, whether I am coaching a leader preparing for a new role, a business owner rethinking strategy, or a team trying to collaborate better, I always bring the conversation back to strengths: which ones are present, which ones are underused, and how they can be combined to reach a goal. It is a practical, grounded way of working, not a theory kept on paper.

The Green Path: Personal Mastery Through Self-Awareness

Much of my coaching is inspired by "The Green Path", an original program created by Renata Gut that presents a model for building Personal Mastery based on high self-awareness and one's own strengths. I use this model in business, in strengths-based life coaching, and even through sport, because I have found that the same principles apply whenever someone wants to grow: know yourself first, then act from that knowledge.

I am also a co-author of a related management model, "Management on the Green Path", and of two publications built on the same philosophy: "Management on the Green Path, Generation Y" and "Management on the Green Path: Director of the school with passion". These projects came out of real work with leaders and organizations trying to manage people and change with more awareness and less guesswork. When I coach executives today, I bring this same thinking into our sessions: leadership is not about copying a model from someone else, it is about becoming fully aware of your own patterns, strengths and values, and then leading from that place.

Where This Way of Coaching Comes From

The philosophy of discovering full potential and living from one's strengths is something my brother and I took from home. As far as I remember, it was the strongest value in our family, and it is the foundation I have built my coaching practice on, drawing on twenty five years of family and training experience.

Over time, this has taken shape through formal training as well. I trained as a Business Trainer at Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw, where I later became a lecturer in the Business Trainers School program. I hold a EuroMBA through the European Partnership as a Business Professional, and I trained as a Fitness Trainer with Orthos, Leaders in Making Leaders, in Barcelona, which is part of why sport is one of the lenses I use to talk about strengths and discipline. I also co-founded Toastmasters Youth in Barcelona, working with young people on communication and confidence, skills that matter just as much in an executive meeting as they do in front of a wider audience.

In the last three years, I have conducted over 750 hours of coaching sessions in global business and intercultural environments, working with people in Belgium, Spain, Poland, the USA, the UK, Asia and elsewhere. I have also lived and worked in Spain, Finland, Poland and Belgium myself, which has given me a direct, lived sense of how leadership and teamwork look different depending on culture and context. This is something I bring into every coaching relationship, especially when I am working with international teams or with someone navigating a career transition across borders.

Learning From Positive Psychology

Alongside the strengths based approach, I am a Certified Happiness Trainer and a student of Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, who is widely recognized in the field of positive psychology and who was the first to teach a course on Happiness at Harvard University, a course that became the most popular one in the history of the Psychology Department there. Tal created the Happiness Studies Academy program, which combines the views of leading scientists with current research in the field.

Studying with him has deepened how I think about leadership and performance. Strengths are not only about productivity or results, they are also connected to wellbeing. An executive who understands their strengths and uses them well tends to experience more satisfaction in their work, and that satisfaction, in turn, supports better decisions and better relationships with their teams. This is part of why I weave positive psychology into my executive and team coaching, alongside the Gallup strengths framework and the Green Path model.

Working Together

If you are leading a team, moving into a new executive role, running a business, or standing at a career crossroads, I would be glad to work with you. My sessions are held online, so distance is not an obstacle, and I coach in English, Spanish and Polish depending on what feels most comfortable for you. Together we would look closely at your strengths, build more self-awareness around how you lead and work, and use that foundation to move toward the goals that matter to you.

You can book a session with me, Agnieszka Gut, directly on EraCoach, and we can start building your own path forward from there.
